The wine list at Pier 701 was created to specifically compliment Chef Denis Whitton’s French American culinary style. It was designed to highlight his use of the best quality ingredients available, his passion for wild game, and his emphasis on Rockland’s freshest seafood.
Our list offers over 100 carefully selected wines from all over the world to help heighten your dining experience with us. Since, we are located on the water in Piermont our list has been designed with numerous selections, both red and white, to compliment the wonderful assemblage of “goodies” from the sea. In addition, at any one time, we typically have between 15 and 20 wines by the glass available.

Each month during the winter Pier 701 will host a Wine Dinner, which will perfectly pair food and wine together to let you explore a new region of the world. Executive Chef Denis Whitton starts his journey months in advance when he sits down with a winemaker and tastes a variety of wines, both white and red. After a long discussion on flavors and food pairings, and of course a few glasses of wine, only 5 wines will make the cut! Chef Denis then carefully builds a 5 course menu based on the traditional food of the region, but of course with his own little twist! Our wine dinners are not only delicious, but educational as well! During the dinner, a winemaker will join the table and talk about each wine, as well as their vineyard history. As we journey through both the old world and the new, you will sit back and relax with good food, wine and friends in an experience that simply cannot be missed!
